Ras Al Khaimah, UAE: Mekong, the award-winning dining destination at Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah, is set to host a culinary showcase featuring Korean Chef Chanoh Lee. Known for an artistic approach to gastronomy that has earned him recognition in the MICHELIN Guide Seoul, the chef-owner of Manu Terrace in Seoul will be in the Northern Emirates for a two-night event on 23 and 24 January.
The guide has previously described Chef Chanoh Lee as an artist with extraordinary attention to aesthetic detail. With a career spanning France, the Netherlands and Australia, he has developed a distinctive style that harmonises art and flavours. This collaboration reflects Mekong’s commitment to introducing new perspectives to the region, showcasing credible Asian talent in an international setting.
Chef Chanoh Lee has developed a six-course menu for Mekong. The evening begins with small bites, including a shrimp preparation finished with Korean seaweed sauce, followed by a warm rice course layered with gamtae seaweed and pickled mushrooms. These opening dishes establish a foundation of depth and balance, reflecting the same visual and culinary style that defines his work in Seoul.
The seafood selection features uni and scallop with a gentle soy glaze inspired by coastal Korean traditions, followed by butter-poached lobster paired with a savoury doenjang sauce. For the main course, guests will experience an elegant interpretation of galbijjim—slow-braised Korean short rib served with aged white kimchi.
The experience is available for two nights only, running from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm. The six-course tasting menu is priced at AED 595 per person for food, with an optional drink pairing available for an additional AED 200. Seating is limited and operates strictly by reservation.
