A Journey Through Biodiversity and Innovation

The guest experience at the Eco Village begins with a focus on the smallest, yet most vital, members of the ecosystem. Visitors can explore a homegrown beehive, which offers a fascinating look at the role of pollinators in maintaining local biodiversity.

Continuing the journey, the village features a high-tech hydroponic farm. This onsite facility demonstrates resource-efficient agricultural practices, showcasing how fresh produce can be grown with minimal environmental impact and integrated directly into the hotel’s award-winning culinary offerings. It is a masterclass in responsible production and local sourcing.

Marine Conservation and Ocean Stewardship

A cornerstone of the Jumeirah Eco Village is its dedication to the Arabian Gulf’s marine life. Dedicated exhibits showcase the globally recognized Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project (DTRP). Since 2004, this initiative has rescued, rehabilitated, and returned over 2,320 turtles to their natural habitat. The village highlights Jumeirah’s significant coral restoration efforts: Nursery Success where over 1,400 coral fragments are currently being nurtured at the Jumeirah Al Naseem nursery; Translocation where more than 300 fragments have already been successfully returned to the sea; DUBAI REEF Support, the brand continues to support one of the world’s largest reef developments, establishing over 3,000 fragments in offshore nurseries.

Circularity and Community Engagement

The Eco Village is not merely a gallery of past successes but an active space for future change. Visitors can explore Jumeirah’s commitments to decarbonisation and waste reduction. The experience culminates at the Jumeirah Recycle Hub, powered by the UAE-based climate tech start-up Midori Network. Here, guests can participate in plastic-repurposing workshops, transforming waste into functional products a tangible lesson in circularity.

“Jumeirah Eco Village is an immersive platform that showcases the work we are doing to advance our sustainability agenda,” says Thomas B. Meier, Chief Executive Officer of Jumeirah. “Through this experience, we aim to inspire guests, colleagues, and the wider community to adopt more sustainable practices in their daily lives.”

A Legacy of Education

Education remains at the heart of the village’s mission. Building on Jumeirah’s partnership with the environmental charity Ocean Generation, the village serves as a hub for marine environmental education. This follows the pilot of the UNESCO-endorsed Ocean Academy programme across Dubai schools, ensuring that the next generation is equipped with the knowledge to protect our oceans.
