Reem Ali Makes Dubai Debut at IKKA Hyatt Centric Jumeirah Art Gallery

Dubai, UAE: IKKA at Hyatt Centric Jumeirah has launched a permanent in-house gallery where contemporary works debut before hitting the formal Dubai circuit. Integrated into the restaurant’s daily operations from 4pm to 1am, the programme replaces the isolated gallery environment with a social dining setting.

On Practicing Recovery by Reem Ali

From 4 February to 28 February 2026, IKKA is hosting the Dubai debut of Saudi visual artist Reem Ali. The exhibition, titled On Practicing Recovery, follows previous showcases in Paris and marks the second chapter of the restaurant’s gallery programme. Ali, who has a background in biology, uses video and photography to examine the themes of memory, domesticity and the process of recovery. The works are presented as a contrast to the atmosphere of the Peruvian-Japanese restaurant, which features a rooftop setting and live music.

Art and Dining Integration

The exhibition is positioned so that guests encounter the artwork alongside the restaurant’s food and beverage service. By hosting rotating monthly exhibitions, IKKA functions as a point of first encounter for contemporary art in the UAE. The works are visible throughout the venue, ensuring that the viewing experience is part of the dinner service. Following the conclusion of the exhibition on 28 February, the collection will be moved to other art venues within the city.
