Dubai, UAE: The food scene in Dubai, the perfect city for food lovers, is reaching new heights this year. After the opening of the much-anticipated Nobu at One Za’abeel, ZEA in DIFC, Chitarra at Mandarin Oriental Downtown and the rebranding of Brasserie Frantzén at Atlantis, here are some new and upcoming spots for foodies to check out. From live-fire kitchens of Alserkal Avenue to the high-glamour skyline terraces of Downtown, here’s some restaurants to add to you list of dining spots in 2026.
Roberto's, DIFC
Roberto’s has reopened in DIFC following a renovation of the 13-year-old venue. The updated layout includes a main dining room with increased natural light, a larger outdoor terrace, and the introduction of Scala Bar Lounge at the rear of the premises. The interior design utilises stone, wood, and tailored upholstery, drawing from Milanese mid-century architecture to facilitate service from day into evening.
The kitchen team prepared for the reopening by training with Chef Enrico Bartolini, who holds 14 Michelin stars across his portfolio. This training informed a new menu focused on Italian technical standards and specific ingredient sourcing. New additions include a crudo selection and a dry-aged fish programme. The restaurant continues to serve house-made pastas and sharing plates, alongside a traditional dessert trolley used for table-side service.
ZEA, DIFC
Rooted in the ancient Greek symbol for the “grain of life,” ZEA brings a sophisticated Mediterranean address to the Emirates Financial Towers. Under the culinary direction of Chef Donovan Clive Christian, the menu champions clean flavours and open-fire techniques. Signature offerings include Wagyu Tomahawk and whole Dover Sole, complemented by a beverage programme that highlights Mediterranean botanicals and a subtle Peruvian accent.
Window, Alserkal Avenue
From the founders of the acclaimed Kokoro, Window debuted in Alserkal Avenue, recently, as a modern, chef-driven concept. The venue focuses on innovative live-fire cooking in a craft-driven atmosphere, using natural textures and warm woods to create an intimate sanctuary. The menu remains simple and seasonal, focusing on precision and thoughtful intention, complemented by an entirely alcohol-free beverage list.
Pavyllon Dubai, Mandarin Oriental Downtown
Multi-decorated French chef Yannick Alléno, who currently holds 17 Michelin stars across his global portfolio, is set to debut Pavyllon Dubai at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown. The concept is defined by an elegant, all-day approach, balancing classical technique with regional produce. Guests can expect the famous Steamed Cheddar Soufflé and charcoal-grilled Blue Lobster, served in an interior designed by Chahan Minassian that evokes the feel of a chic Parisian residence. The restaurant’s launch date has yet to be confirmed.
Barrafina Dubai, DIFC
The heart of DIFC welcomes Barrafina, bringing the essence of its celebrated London locations to Gate Village. The menu focuses on ingredient-driven cooking, featuring the classic Spanish tortilla, gambas rojas, and a rotating selection of Galician dry-aged beef. A pared-back para picar menu is available between services, catering to the district’s fast-paced yet discerning professional community.
Osaka Nikkei, Mandarin Oriental Downtown
Perched on the 35th floor of the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Osaka Nikkei brings its globally renowned Peruvian-Japanese fusion to the UAE. Originally launched in Lima, the concept is built on Japanese precision and bold Peruvian flavours. Signature dishes such as the Osaka Steak and Yuzu Cheesecake are served against a backdrop of dramatic city skyline views, promising an immersive culinary journey.
AY-VY, DIFC
AY-VY is positioned as a cultural intersection where Pan-Asian cuisine, contemporary art, and nightlife fuse into a multisensory journey. With locations spanning from Ibiza to New York, the Dubai outpost is designed for a global audience that demands theatre. Expect bold flavours painted with fire and a vibrant energy that transitions seamlessly from a refined dinner to a late-night social atmosphere.
Villa Em Sherif, Al Wasl Road
Mireille Hayek, the acclaimed restaurateur known as Em Sherif, brings her sea-inspired concept to the waterfront. Villa Em Sherif (Sea Café) is an homage to Lebanon’s Mediterranean coast, featuring a marine-inspired design and a vast menu of fresh seafood. Highlights include the innovative Fish Kibbeh and traditional Lebanese mezzeh, providing a high-quality retreat for families and seafood enthusiasts.
Hikiniku To Come, Al Quoz
Brought to Al Quoz by the team behind Kokoro, Hikiniku To Come simplifies the dining ritual to its most essential elements: meat and rice. The signature dish involves fresh beef ground daily and grilled over charcoal, served atop steamed rice prepared in a traditional hagama pot. This Tokyo-inspired concept turns simple, high-quality ingredients into a gastronomic art form.
